Requirement

Building using traditional methods and materials can be costly, time consuming and create a great deal of upheaval. This family wanted to install a standalone annexe in their garden on a site adjacent to the house, for their elderly relative. Whilst researching build options, the Courts approached us and after a detailed site survey and discussion regarding layout and budget, our designer drew up plans which they were delighted with.

Summary

This annexe consists of an open plan living area with deluxe fully integrated kitchen, (supplied by Howdens, installed by our team), spacious bedroom and shower ensuite. Many features were carefully planned and installed, including low level entry into the extra width shower cubicle, appropriately placed hand and grab rails. Masses of natural light and wide views across the beautiful garden were afforded by the expanse of glazing (toughened, A rated and argon-filled) of the sliding doors, each panel 1.8m wide by 2.1 high. The annexe was installed throughout with underfloor heating, thermostatically control from the LED touch screen as shown in the image. All window and door frames are maintenance free powder coated aluminium, in anthracite grey to perfectly match the non-slip composite decking that wraps around the building and includes ramped access. The warm wood tones of the knot free kiln dried cedar cladding and the sedum living roof allow the building to blend with the greenery of its surroundings. Overall a stunning bespoke annexe that we trust will be enjoyed for many many years.
